Children are the future pillars of the Nation: Gen JJ Singh

Former Indian Army Chief and former Governor Gen JJ Singh who recently joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) led by Khadoor Sahib MP and President Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Gen visited the Shaheed Harjinder Singh Secondary School at Sohal, Distt. Tarn Taran in Punjab on Saturday to motivate the students.Children are the future of the Nation and  there is Almighty God in Children. He highlighted the importance of education to students and motivated them to reach higher positions. The noble tradition of serving in Armed Forces of the Nation through (NDA) National Defence Academy or Military Academies in which today the selection is highly competitive and to enter in these academies is only possible on merit basis, "He said while addressing the students".The students should focus on science and Math subjects as the modern Armed Forces are getting more hi-tech day by day so therefore the Armed Forces needed the officers and the soldiers who are well educated to handle such hi-tech weapons and equipments. There are no shortcuts in life. Shortcuts are disguised beginnings of long trails of consequences. 

The children should respect their elders, parents and teachers to be a good human being and never forget the teachings given by their "Guru" (Teacher),"Gen added".The Gen, also had a word of advice for the teachers and parents that they should not force their children to adopt a profession like Medical, Engineering and Teaching etc. On the other hand he encouraged the students with his motivational speech  to develop their skills and intrinsic talent to excel in life.The Gen, also appreciated the work done by Mr. Brahmpura for the people of Khadoor Sahib constituency and now this change will be brought to frame the new policy regarding the welfare and the betterment of Punjab people. The youth, adults and children to involve themselves in sports for healthy living, so that the sports talent could be developed in a better way, "Gen added".The Gen, also distributed books to the students and assured of all possible help for study of the students from the weaker section of the society.
