DDC Pulwama takes stock of snow clearance, essential services

In view of inclement weather and continuous snowfall, District Development Commissioner Pulwama G.M Dar along with the team of officers today conducted an extensive tour of the Pulwama town and adjacent areas and took stock of snow clearance, connectivity, restoration of power and water supply, availability of ration and other essential commodities.Chief Medical Officer, S.E R&B, Executive Officer Municipal Committee and concerned officials accompanied the DDC.During the tour, the DDC visited Main Market, Muran Chowk and hospital road where locals apprised the DDC about the problems faced by them amid harsh weather conditions.On the occasion, DDC said all the men and machinery have been put on high alert in the district since last night and the snow clearance operations were started early morning to ensure all major link roads are cleared on war footing basis to make them through for the general public across the district.DDC directed the officials of concerned departments to fully gear up the men and machinery to clear the roads for traffic movement and make all roads clear in town and adjacent areas. He stressed on prioritising snow-clearance from roads leading to all important installations across the district including Hospitals, schools and colleges. He exhorted upon the officers to work in close liaison with other departments to overcome the issues faced by public.He appealed people to contact Control Room to avail all possible help from the district administration during inclement weather conditions at all times.Later on, DDC also visited District hospital Pulwama to take stock of the patient care and facilities being provided to the people there.  While interacting with patients, Dar enquired about their health and medical facility being provided to them. On the occasion, DDC admired the work of hospital administration for providing better health care facilities to the patients during harsh weather conditions.On the occasion, people appreciated the efforts of the District administration and thanked District Development Commissioner for visiting the hospital.
