Disciplined youth lead nation on path of progress : Acharya Devvrat

Governor Acharya Devvrat said that the progress of the nation depends on its youth and unity and discipline among them would certainly lead the nation on the path of progress. He said National Cadets Core (NCC) is doing commendable work towards the overall development of the youths.The Governor was speaking on the occasion of the Cadets Felicitation Ceremony for the returning Cadets from the Republic Day NCC Camp at Delhi organized by the Directorate of NCC Haryana, Punjab, Himachal & Chandigarh at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, today. "Ever since its establishment, NCC has made an immense contribution towards the process of national building including social harmony. NCC has transformed the lives of millions of our youth by training them and inculcating in them the core values of patriotism, discipline and selfless service", said Acharya Devvrat.He said that India is a young nation, and our youth are our major strength and if we channelize this immense energy in a positive direction, we could successfully address even the most complex challenges facing our country today. He added that NCC is a highly effective medium to channelize the boundless energy of our youth. He complimented the dedication of the performance of young cadets of this region during the Republic Day Camp at Delhi besides, the sincerity and commitment of the officers and the training staff. He hoped that their experiences at Delhi would stay with them as fond memories throughout life. 

He also complimented Major General R.S. Mann, Additional Director General Punjab, Haryana, Himachal & Chandigarh and his group commanders drawn from across the four states, for their inspiring role and motivation of the cadets. He said that only that nation can progress which has the spirit of unity and discipline in youth. Our country has a glorious history but, due to the lack of this spirit, foreign invaders took advantage and we became slave. He added that today, the conditions are different and the talented youth of NCC are future of the country.On this occasion, NCC cadets presented cultural programmes.The Governor honoured the cadets from the Republic Day NCC Camp at Delhi. Permanent instructional staff of the defence services and associate NCC officers of various educational institutions were also honoured for guiding and motivating the cadets.Earlier, Maj. Gen R.S. Mann, Additional Director General Punjab, Haryana, Himachal & Chandigarh NCC Directorate welcomed the Governor on the occasion and detailed various activities of NCC besides the performance and achievements of selected 106 cadets in Republic Day NCC camp held at New Delhi.Commanding officers of various NCC units were also present on the occasion.
