The "Direct income support’ of Rs. 17/- payable to each farmer of the country as announced in the interim budget presented by the Modi government on Friday is a mockery of the farming community which toils hard day and night to feed the entire country", these views were expressed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann who was here in the holy city to pay his obeisance at the Golden Temple after being crowned as the President of Punjab unit of the party.Terming the budget as another "Jumla" by the Modi Government, Mann said that all sections of the society were suffering due to the anti-people policies of the present government at the centre, which were designed only to benefit a handful of corporate honchos.Mann said the Modi Govenrment had failed to generate enough employment avenues for the youth of the country due to which the rate of unemployment was at its peak under its regime. Taking a jibe at Punjab Government, Mann said the Capt. Amarinder Singh had taken a u-turn on the promises he made to the people in the party manifesto. Mann said he had vowed to end the drug trade in state within four weeks of forming the government. However, even  after assuming power and taking a solemn vow in the divine presence of Sri Gutka sahib, drug lords were flourishing under the protective patronage of the Congress in the saddle, Mann further said. The youth of Punjab was in dire straits in the absence of industry in the state which could have generated employment opportunities for them. While answering a query on the alliance in Punjab, Mann said that their doors were open for the like- minded parties sharing similar views on Punjab and the Punjabis, to put up a united face to get rid the state of the Congress and Akalis.  He said that they would not forge an alliance with the people who had stabbed Aam Aadmi Party in the back.Mann said that he had sought blessings of the almighty in his fight against the corrupt who had plundered state for their petty political ends.
