Police foil NHM protest march for regularization

Police on Wednesday foiled National health mission (NHM) Employees protest march for regularization.Scores of employees holding placards and banners staged protest at press colony Srinagar demanding.The employees have been protesting from 14 January to press for their various demands. However when they tried to move towards Lal Chowk, police swang in to action and foiled the march and atleast one dozen employees also detained.Their primary demands include regularisation of services, equal pay for equal work and social security benefits."Protesting is our right but unfortunately we are not allowed to do that as well", an employee told Valley Media Service."It has been more than half a month and government is showing a callous approach", he said.The continues protest has affected the health services across state as thousands of these employees are working in various district, sub district hospitals across state.The employees include doctors, paramedics and administrative staff.(VMS)
