The Punjab Urban & Rural Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa today conducted surprise checking at head office of PUDA and at the head office of Rural Development & Panchayat Department at Vikas Bhawan here.The Minster who reached Vikas Bhawan at 9.10 am today alongwith Director Mr. Jaskaran Singh met all the late comers at the entry gate. After this he went to PUDA building at 9.20 am which is adjoining Vikas Bhawan where he directed Mrs. Gurneet Tej, Chief Administrator, PUDA to send him a detailed report about all the absent employees and late comers.The Minister while disclosing about his surprise visit to both the departments said that today’s checking follows the one conducted earlier in November last year.He also said that the last time he let off the absentee and late comer employees of the Rural Development Department without taking any action but those employees found absent from duty this time too would face action to set an example. The Minister has strongly conveyed to senior officers of both the departments that they are going to be held responsible if absenteeism among employees persists.The Minister also directed the departmental officers to provide hassle free and timely services to the people in a speedy manner. The Minister also said that unnecessary objections and delay in disposal of files would not be tolerated at any level and emphasized that there would be zero tolerance towards the corrupt practices as providing transparent governance is the cornerstone of the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh led government.
