Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said mp Ranjit Singh Brahmpura had unleashed a conspiracy to split the party after a meeting with chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and that now the doors of the SAD were closed for him forever.Addressing a large worker meeting which was attended by more than 90 per cent of the office bearers of the SAD as well as SGPC members of the constituency, Mr Badal said Brahmpura and other leaders including Dr Rattan Singh Ajnala and Sewa Singh Sekhwan even timed their ‘protest’ against the SAD as per the directions of the Congress party. “The intention was to open another front against the SAD to coincide with the stage managed dharna at Bargari”, he added.Stating that former CM and party patron Parkash Singh Badal was most hurt by Mr Brahmpura’s betrayal, the SAD President said Brahmpura’s career was resurrected by Mr Badal in 2014 when he was given the party ticket to contest the 2014 election after losing the 2012 assembly poll. He said Brahmpura even insisted and prevailed upon the SAD to give the party ticket for the Khadoor Sahib bypoll to his son Ravinder despite the fact that the party was not keen to contest the election.

“Brahmpura Sahab’s word was a commamd for Badal Sahab. He was the senior most leader in the party next to Badal Sahab. Despite this he chose to betray the party at the hands of the Congress. This is why Badal Sahab finally decided that Brahmpura did not have any right to stay in the party”. Stating that such conduct was unpardonable, Mr Badal announced that Brahmpura would not be taken back into the party. He also urged the party cadre to gear up for the parliamentary elections so that the Congress party could be taught a befitting lesson for reneging on the promises made to the people.Former minister Bikram Singh Majithia while speaking on the occasion said Punjabis had always rejected opportunists and would reject them again. Senior leader Alwinder Singh Pakhoke and Gurbachan Singh Karmuwala also spoke on the occasion. Others present  included Virsa Singh Valtoha, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, Bhai Manjit Singh, Gaurav Valtoha, Ramandeep Bharowal, Kuldeep Aulakh and Dalbir Jahangir
