DIET Jammu organized two day ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) awards Manak-2018’ exhibition here at Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar and Teachers Bhawan, Jammu.The Exhibition was inaugurated by Director School Education Jammu,  Anuradha Gupta.Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal SIE Jammu J.K. Sudan, Principal DIET Jammu Roshan Lal were also present.While inaugurating the DLEPC, Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu said, “The aim of INSPIRE award MANAK is to foster a culture of creative and innovative ideas among students to address the problems of the society through Science and Technology. We have to create scientific temperament among students by getting new and creative ideas from them.”The exhibition displayed 585 innovative science models prepared by students of both government and private schools of District Jammu.Total of 3,250 innovative ideas were uploaded on the web portal of Department of Science and Technology, out of which 585 ideas were selected for district level. Each student received Rs 10,000 to prepare the models on the innovative ideas registered on the web portal.An independent jury comprising experts in the field of physics, chemistry and electronics were drawn from colleges to adjudge the innovative models. Ten per cent of the models from  district were selected by the jury to participate at the State level.Mayor of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta was the chief guest in the valedictory function organized in the auditorium hall of Teachers Bhavan Gandhi Nagar who distributed prizes to 50 students selected for state level.
