District bureau of employment and Enterprise is playing a vital role in making the youth self reliant. Stating this Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said that District bureau of employment and Enterprise established at room no. 453-461 third floor of district administrative complex sector 76 is working since 21 November 2018. The bureau equipped with modern facilities like internet, Wi-Fi, Newspapers, etc is providing information regarding job, employment and vocational courses under the one roof.Deputy Commissioner said that suggestions for betterment of this bureau are always welcomed. She said that any person could approach room no. 455 third floor, district administrative complex, sector 76, between 4.30 to 5.30 on any Monday, Wednesday and Friday for giving any kind of suggestion/ feedback for betterment of facilities being provided at District bureau of employment and Enterprise. She said that office of district program management unit which is providing facilities related vocational courses to the willing rural youngsters is also available in district administrative complex. She said a district employment plan will be prepared for the year 2019-20.

She said that under Ghar-Ghar Rojgar scheme initiated by Punjab Government 10062 candidates had registered from 1 April 2018 to 31 December 2018 out of which placement was done for 3049 candidates whereas self business opportunities were provided to 4656 youngsters.Explaining about the functioning of District bureau of employment and Enterprise, she said that during 1 November to 31 December 2018 total 1007 youngsters has visited the bureau and 12 placement camps including mega job fairs were organized whereat 1960 candidates were got selected for placement. Under Punjab skill development mission Training was provided to 568 candidates whereas 403 are under training and placement had been done for 268 candidates. She appealed the youngster's to take maximum benefit from District bureau of employment and Enterprise and contribute for development of the nation.
