JAC Delegation met Social Welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot

A delegation of Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Unaided Colleges of Punjab met Social welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot recently under the leadership of Chairman, JAC, Sh. Ashwani Sekhri.On the one hand JAC thanked Dharamsot for the landmark decisions taken in favour of Colleges and 3 lakhs SC Students while on the other hand JAC requested Minister to pressurize Centre Govt for the early release of pending 1286 Crore of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) before the final examinations of 2018-19 which are due in April.Minister assured that he has already taken up the issue with the Union Social Welfare Minister Dr. Thawar Chand Gehlot and if there would be further delay then soon a State delegation would again follow with him.Dr. Anshu Kataria, Spokesman, JAC said that Minister Dharamsot has told that to settle the disputed drop out cases of Punjab, Govt has formed 31 committees under Director Technical Education (DTE), Directorate Public Instructions-Schools (DPI), DPI Colleges,  Director Research and Medical Education (DRME), State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) etc.

S. Nirmal Singh, President, ETT Federation also requested Minister to consider the prescribed fees by the Govt for the Self Financed Colleges of Punjab because this time for the B.Ed Colleges, the prescribed fees by the Punjab Govt was Rs 68,370/- while the sanctioned fees by the Social Welfare Dept was just Rs 16,834/- and for the ETT Colleges, prescribed Govt. fees was Rs 40,000/- while the sanctioned fees by the Social Welfare Dept was Rs 8735/-Dr. J.S Dhaliwal, President, Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association; Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA; Sh. Jagjit Singh, President, B.Ed Federation; Mr. Charanjit Walia, President, Nursing Colleges Association; S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Academic Advisory Forum (AAF); Sh. Anil Chopra, Confederation of Punjab Unaided Institutions; S. Nirmal Singh, ETT Federation; Sh. Vipan Sharma, Polytechnic Association;  Mr. Jasnik Singh, B.Ed. Association, PU; S. Sukhmander Singh Chattha, Punjab Unaided Degree Colleges Association (PUDCA); Mr. Shimanshu Gupta, ITI Association; Dr. Satwinder Sandhu, B.Ed Association GNDU Colleges etc were also present on the occasion.
