JEE Main 2019 B.Arch. Exam Analysis : Know Students Reactions After the Exam

JEE Main 2019 has started off in full swing and with its commencement has come up mixed reactions from students across the country who attempted for the exam. The first slot of JEE Main 2019 that commenced on January 08, 2019, was held in two shifts i.e. morning and evening slots. The examination was held in almost 11 cities in Rajasthan including Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar, Sriganganagar and Udaipur.As per the latest report coming from Pradeep Singh Gour, CBSE Coordinator stated that the B.Arch. Paper of JEE Main conducted on Tuesday received mixed reactions from students who appeared at the Kota center.He further informed, that out of a total of 563 aspirants who registered for the exam only 424 students appeared for the morning shift of B.Arch. paper conducted in the center. The Paper I comprised of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for seeking admission to engineering courses whereas the Paper II of JEE Main 2019 comprised of Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing for availing admission to Architecture courses.

Difficulty Level

Many students found the Paper II of JEE Main 2019 to be difficult. However, it was the mathematics part which was noted to be much harder. SunitaTyagi, an aspirant states that the B.Arch.Paper was not only confusing but tricky too. However, in comparison they found the Drawing paper to be much easier than previous year paper conducted in 2018. “The drawing paper was easy whereas the aptitude and mathematics paper was much difficult in comparison to JEE Main 2018” she stated. The overall cutoff marks for the B.Arch. could be around 250 marks out of the total 390 marks, she added further.

Positive Reactions

However, not all students considered the B. Arch paper to be difficult. Another aspirant named Achintya Krishna quoted that the Paper II of JEE Main 2019 was easier than the previous year paper. He also added the difficulty level of Mathematics, Drawing, and Aptitude to be less in comparison of opposite reaction.Another aspirant, NandanAnantThedgestated, out of the total questions asked in the paper II, 15 questions from the General Knowledge part were the easiest. He also cited, the remaining two papers of Drawing and Mathematics to be easier this year.

About the Computer Based Test

The JEE Mains 2019 was held in the Computer Based Mode for the first time.On asking the students about their reaction regarding the Computer Based mode, one of an aspirant named Ravi Kumar stated, “The computer-based online mode was quite good. It was much easier to change the response of the MCQs than that of offline examination wherein it was difficult to change in the OMR sheet”.There were some mixed reactions from students. While few spoke in pro of the new online mode, many found it not up to the mark. Ayush Kumar Namdev aged 18, another aspirant of JEE Main had an opposite reaction to the online mode as it was impossible to have the entire examination paper loaded in a single screen.The examination will continue till January 20 and the reactions in the coming days still remain to be noted. The JEE Main 2019 examination was registered by over 9.50 lakhs aspirants and held in 264 examination centres around the country.
