Media workshop under Noor Jivan Ka Betiyan campaign held at Kishtwar

Under the aegis of nationwide  scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana convened one day media workshop here today.The workshop among others was attended by SSP Kishtwar, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, ADDC Kishtwar Imam Din DIO Kishtwar Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Nodal Officer BBBP, Anoop Kumar, Dy CMO Dr. Yaqoob Mir besides Media Persons.Speaking at the occasion, DDC enjoined upon the media persons for their participation and coordination with regard to awareness and outreach of BBBP campaign in the district in general and far flung areas like Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan, Padder etc in particular.In an interactive session, media persons also shared their valuable suggestions regarding the effective implementation of the programme with involvement of NGOs, felicitating of meritorious girl children, pro-active approach of all line departments, educating the parents through social and religious preachers, crusaders, holding of district level competitions exclusively for girl students, exposure to educated girls of far flung areas in field of different professions, appreciating the couples having two daughters. Besides, they also assured full cooperation and support in highlighting the ongoing activities and stories of BBBP campaign.DDC informed that a training session of newly elected Sarpanchs and  Panches is going to commence from 15th January. He directed Nodal Officer BBBP to make the PRIs fully aware of the scheme and ensure holding of awareness camps under the scheme with active involvement of Lamabardars and Chowkidars at Panchayat level.He further stated that girls of the district who have excelled  in various fields  will be felicitated on Girl Child's Day on 24th of January 2019.Earlier, the Nodal Officer BBBP briefed the participants about the role and responsibility of all line departments as well as media personals in effective implementation of BBBP Scheme.
