Union Commerce Secretary Holds Meeting With Chief Secretary, Punjab Over Issues Concerning Exporters Of The State

The Union Commerce Secretary Dr. Anup Wadhavan, IAS along with his team of officers of the Commerce Ministry held a high level meeting today with Dr. Karan Avtar Singh, IAS, Chief Secretary, Punjab at Chandigarh to discuss various issues and problems of the exporters of the State. Smt. Vini Mahajan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Punjab arranged & coordinated the meeting on behalf of the State Government.The officers accompanying the Union Commerce Secretary included Sh Sanjay Chadha, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Sh B S Bhalla, IAS, Joint Secretary, Commerce, Sh Sunil Singh Katiyar, Commissioner, GST & Customs, Sh M.S.Dhillion, Additional DGFT, Ludhiana, Sh L B Singhal, DC, SEZ, Noida, Sh Kalyana Rama, CMD, CONCOR, Sh Paban K Borthakur Chairman, APEDA, Sh Keku Bomi Gazder, CEO, AAI-CLAS, and Sh T.V. Ravi, Director, Department of Commerce.Officers on the State Govt who attended the meeting included Sh. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Sh. M.P.Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Excise & Taxation, Cooperation and Development, Sh. Anirudh Tiwari, IAS, Principal Secretary, Finance, Sh. R.K. Verma, Principal Secretary, Science, Technology & Environment, Sh. Vikas Pratap, IAS, Secretary Tourism & Cultural Affairs, , Civil Aviation, Sh Husan Lal, IAS, Secretary B&R, Sh Rahul Bhandari, IAS, MD PSIEC & Sh DPS Kharbanda, IAS, Director, Industries & Commerce.Prior to the consultation with Chief Secretary, a meeting was held with the exporters of the State which was arranged by FIEO and Department of  Industries & Commerce, Punjab at Hotel Mount View, Chandigarh which was attended by representatives of EEPC, CICU, CII, FICCI,ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI.The issues of the exporters were broadly classified into three categories relating to EXIM Trade, GST & Infrastructure issues.
