Reacting on the resignation of suspended AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaiar the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday termed the move as opportunism and said that this will further strengthen the party.Addressing the media at Barnala, AAP MP Bhagwant Mann, Lop Harpal Cheema, core committee chairman Principal Budhram, MLAs Aman Arora, Manjit Bilaspur, Kulwant Pandori, Rupinder Ruby and other leaders said that Khaira has tried to weaken the party.Bhagwant Mann said that Khaira was suspended on the grounds of indiscipline and was asked to fall in party line but he kept on speaking against his own party leadership. He said that Khaira has always worked on the principle of 'Me' but  that is not acceptable in any organization. He has always raised questions questions over the decisions of party be it appointing H.S.Phoolka as Lop or Mann as party president of Punjab unit. His fight is only for grabbing power and nothing more than that.Mann said that resignation of Khaira is just political drama and if he want to test his popularity he must resign from the vidhan sabha and contest from Bholath again. He repeated that other MLAs of Khaira group are misguided and doors of party are always open for them.

 Harpal Cheema said that party is rising strongly in the state and will contest 2019 general elections on its own. He said there is not place in the party for people who work againt it being within party. He said that people of Punjab are feeling cheated by Congress, SAD and BJP and AAP is the only hope for them to raise the voice of unheard.Principal Budhram said that party doesn't depend on any individual but the driving force behind it has always been the people of Punjab and the volunteers of AAP. He said Khaira did not ask even a single question in the recent session of vidhan sabha after he was removed from the post of Lop that exposes his claims about sincerity for issues of Punjab.Aman Arora said the party doesn't believe in negative politics but to raise the issues of people. He said Khaira is not an issue for party but the people of Punjab are utmost priority for AAP. He said Khaira is an example of opportunism in politics and had never worked as a team player. He used to speak against the party leadership while in Congress that shows he he is habitual  rule breaker. While joining the party Khaira was aware that AAP is a national party and he has to follow a certain set of rules. He said that Arvind Kejriwal has given the voice to the oppressed people of counrty and he the people have started raising voice against corrupt politicians just becase of Kejriwal.
