District Development Commissioner, Anshul Garg, who is also chairman of District Red Cross Society, today chaired a meeting to review functioning of the Society here today.The meeting was attended by ASP Vinay Kumar, ACR Dil Mir Choudhary, CPO Parshotam Kumar besides other district officers of various department.The DDC asked the participants to help in creating awareness  regarding the role of Red Cross society in saving human lives during disaster like situations.The meeting had detailed discussion on various agenda points of the meeting and thrust was laid on raising contributory funds to meet the requirements of people during calamities, disasters and emergent situations. The participants put forth various suggestion and innovative ideas to further streamline services of the Society for the cause of the needy people.The officers including Senior Superintendent of Police, Vice Chairman DRCS, Principals of Government Degree Colleges of the district, General Manager DIC, Assistant Commissioner (Dev), Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, ARTO assured the meeting that they will initiate several activities related to their respective departments for raising donations for the DRCS. Besides, Chief Executive Officer BDA assured installation of donation boxes at the tourist sites besides requesting the civil contractors and suppliers/vendors for voluntary contribution.
