Parcel Bomb : Accused Arrested Within Two Days By Mansa Police

Addicted To Various Forms Of Drugs, Had Tried To Make Few Fast Bucks, Cctv Footage Helped Police In Tracing The Case, Ssp Mandhir Singh

Just two days after the incident of demanding Rs 20 lakhs by sending a "parcel-bomb", in the house of a Budhlada based junk dealer, Mansa police today arrested both the accused involved in the crime. The accused are identified as Rakesh Nikkra (32), a resident of Kalotha village of Fatehabad (Haryana) and Jagjeet Jaggi, resident of ward number 12 in Ratia (Haryana).Addressing a press conference today Mansa SSP Mandhir Singh said that they have arrested both the accused today and the motorcycle (CT-100) used in the crime has also been recovered from their possession.The SSP said that both the accused are addicted to various forms of drugs and had earlier booked in three different cases of attempt to murder, theft and rape in Haryana. While Rakesh Nikkra is booked for attempt to murder and rape at Ratia police station, Jaggi too was booked for stealing. Both of them had gone to jail form some time, the SSP furhter said.  

The accused had, on Thursday, sent a parcel bomb into the house of Shakuntala Devi who raised an alarm and brought the matter into notice of police. A police party under the direct supervision of SSP Mandhir Singh reached Budhlada and the area was cordoned off by Bomb Squad called from Bathinda. "We focussed our attention on all the CCTV Cameras installed in the nearby areas and a special team was formed which zereoed on bikers," said SSP Mandhir Singh. He added that the accused were finally arrested after sustained efforts by the police team of CIA Mansa. A case under sections 386,511,506, 34 and Explosive SubstancesAct has been registered against both the accused. SP (h) Major Singh, DSP (Budhlada) Jaspreet Singh, CIA Incharge-Baljeet Singh Brar, SI Mohan Lal (SHO city-Budhlada) were also present during the press conference.
