Third state level mega Rozgar Mela held in Patiala

18,672 youngsters’ gets certificates and appointment letters for business, self-employment and jobs

The Department of Punjab Employment Generation and Training today gave away certificates and appointment letters to 18,672 youngsters for starting their business, self employment and jobs during the Mega Rozgar Melas organized in state during the last six months under the flagship program of Punjab Government-Ghar Ghar Rozgar. These certificates were distributed at a state level function organized in Punjabi University, Patiala.Besides youth from 22 districts in state, new lecturers appointed in Technical Education and Junior Engineers appointed in Public Health Department too participated during today’s Mega Rozgar Mela.Though Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh himself wishes to participate in this program to give away certificates and appointment letters to the youngsters but couldn’t turn up as he was unwell.The state level function was presided over by senior cabinet minister Brahm Mohindra who was accompanied by forest minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Employment Generation and Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Public Health and Water Supply Minister Razia Sultana who jointly congratulated the youth.Addressing the youth, Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Brahm Mohindra congratulated the youth on behalf of Punjab CM. Mohindra conveyed the message of Punjab CM to the youth that Punjab Government would leave no stone unturned to provide jobs to the unemployed youth.He said that now the government would focus on providing jobs to those youngsters in coming days who are neither skilled nor educated.He further pointed out that in view of the derailed economy of Punjab for past 10-12 years due to which there was no scope for employment, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder included the programs in the election-manifesto for the welfare of farmers, poor-people and youngsters.

Highlighting the recruitment done in the health department, Mohindra said that now adequate number of doctors and para-medical staff is available in government hospitals across the state. He proclaimed that 306 doctors, 215 specialists, 151 lab technicians and 986 nursing staff has already been recruited in health department and more jobs would also be provided soon.Addressing the mammoth gathering of people during this Mega Rozgar Mela, the Forest Minister of Punjab-Sadhu Singh Dharamsot-made the public aware of the government projects which are to be started in coming days. He said that they have has high hopes from the youth of Punjab who would maintain the peace, prosperity and independence of the nation.Earlier during his welcome address, Employment Generation and Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that apart from providing jobs to the youth, Punjab Government is also making them self dependent by offering loans from banks for self employment. He said that apart from the 18,672 youngsters, 34,685 unemployed youth would also be given jobs in coming days.Declaring the reports that people get meager salaries in the Rozgar Melas as wrong and baseless, Channi said that youth have got salary package of Rs 1.25 lacs to Rs 21 lacs.In his address Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that by holding mega rozgar melas in Punjab, CM Captain Amarinder Singh has fulfilled his promise which he made in the election manifesto.Public Health and Water Supply Minister Razia Sultana called upon the newly appointed Junior Engineers in Public Health and Water Supply Department to contribute their every bit in providing pure driving water to the people of Punjab. Meanwhile MLA Hardiayal Singh Kamboj thanked the ministers and youngsters.
