Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee to import Printing Press from Germany for printing holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji

Delhi Sikh  Gurdwara Management  Committee will import ultra modern fully computerized   offset  printing press at cost of 5.94,000(five lakh ninty four thousand Euros ) approximately 8 crore Rs to print copies of  Sikh holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji    at  Gurdwara Rakab Ganj sahib  Complex  as per the Sikh religious code.The new eco  friendly “CO2 neutral” four colour printing  machine  is being imported from Germany firm  Heidelberg   in a bid to keep pace with latest printing technology in the   world. A new three storied  fully air conditioned  printing press complex  named as    Granth Sahib Bhawan  is being built in Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib complex  at the cost of Around 2.5 crore for installing  new printing press  and construction work of the entire complex is likely to completed by April 2019.The new machine is likely to reach  in India by April 2019  and the printing of the holy Sikh holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji on new machine is likely to start in May 2019 said  Manjit Singh G.K.President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today .The total project costing around 11crore  has been donated by a  sikh Non Resident Indian.The work for installation of the  high quality new machine is being undertaken by  Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuri wale ji  who is  also assigned with the ‘kar sewa’ of the new building named as Granth Sahib Bhawan of  printing press.The  two colour printing press operationalised  at present will also continue its printing operations mainly for  Sikh Gurmat literature, (philosophy of the Gurus)  and printing needs of various sikh institutions like Chains  of Guru Harkishan  Public Schools etc.Approximately one lakh copies of holy scripture guru granth sahib ji have been published so far in present two colour  printing press after it was made operationalised around  20 years back .

All such copies published on special paper and ink have also been distributed among devotees so far.Siromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committtee Amritsar and DSGMC Delhi has only exclusive and legal rights for publication of the authentic version holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji  worldwide,The SGPC controls all rights for the legal printing of the Granth Sahib which is now done in Amritsar and New Delhi only in entire world .The SGPC and DSGMC are the world’s largest publisher of authentic Sikh religious books and literature.The new printing press will have optimum capacity of printing ten thousand pages per day which will meet the growing demand of holy book worldwide mainly among overseas Sikh devotees.The  Sikh holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib ji will be made available to sikh devotees on subsidized rates and besides it sikh literature like calender , dairies etc will also be published in the new printing press to propagate the Sikhism said Sh Manjit Singh G.K.President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.DSGMC is also planning to showcase common  people and school students about the journey of the  Shree Guru Granth Sahib ji by organising visits to the press complex.In these tours,visitors will be educated about the process of printing theholy scripture, how errors on the pages are spotted etc. It will help in projecting the spot as  new religious  tourist destination in national capital which will attract both foreign as well as domestic tourists   said Sh Manjit Singh G.K. President DSGMC.The  new golden offset printing press is  capable of   not  only  of good quality in minimum  time but also high volume delivery. Use of eco friendly  ultra modern  machines will save time,reduce production cost and, most significantly save the environment and  improve the printing quality said Sh Manjit Singh G.K.President DSGMC.The 1,430-page Holy  Guru  Granth Sahib ji which consists of holy verses of Sikh Gurus and 30 other saints like Kabir, Ravidass, Namdev etc will be printed and delivered to devotees    in accordance  to strict adherence to the 'Reyat Maryada' (Sikh religious code of conduct) ji   said Sh Manjit Singh G.K. President DSGMC .
