While addressing a massive gathering at Ramleela ground, Rohru in Shimla district on Sunday, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that picturesque Chanshal area of Rohru Assembly constituency would be developed as international level tourist destination by providing best infrastructure to attract more adventure and snow sports lovers to the area.He said that although Rohru Assembly remained a focus point in the state politics, still most of the interior areas of this constituency are still underdeveloped. The present government has completed almost eleven months of its tenure and welfare of the common man has remained the focal point of policies and programmes of the government. The people of the state are feeling the difference between the working of the present and the previous government, he added.The Chief Minister said that the state government's attitude has not been to work with vengeance and vendetta as the government is committed to ensure all-round and balanced development of the entire state. The state government it its very first budget announced launching of thirty new schemes for the welfare of every section of the society.Jai Ram Thakur said that the state has launched Grihini Suvidha Yojna to provide free of cost gas connections to the woman beneficiaries of the state and till date about 35,000 connections have been distributed. He said the government has launched several more schemes to ensure that benefits of development go down to the people living in the remotest parts.

The Chief Minister declared that Kharapathar-Sheelghat-Shrontha-Tikker and Sari-Jharag-Sheelghat as major district roads.He announced construction of a multipurpose hall, canteen and modern girl's hostel in Seema college, construction of parking complex at Rohru, Rs. 20 lakh for upgradation of Seema-Ratnadi road and around Rs. 80 lakh for various link roads of the area. He also announced opening of veterinary dispensary at Kanda, Rs. 10 lakh for constructing community hall at Ratnadi and assured the people that on-going work on Sabzi Mandi Rohru would be expedited.Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated 70 meter long span box gender bridge at Samoli constructed at a cost Rs. 10.30 crore and inaugurated administrative block of PG college Seema constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.24 crore.He performed Bhoomi Pujan of Dhamandhar Jawari-Mastot, Bashla- Antapu-Saridhar, Koftu-Koralla-Pekhadhar-Bajeshal roads.Prior to this, the Chief Minister listened the "Man Ki Baat" programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with people in large number at Rohru.Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that last eleven months of the state government have been remarkable and full of achievements. He said that the very first decision of the state government was to lower the age limit for senior citizens to get old age pension without and income limit from 80 years to 70 years. It was for the first time that the Chief Minister gave the state helicopter for facilitating the tourists visiting the state. He said that Jan Manch is another major programme launched by the state government to ensure that grievances of the people get timely redressed nearer to their homes.Member of Parliament Virender Kashyap said that the center and state governments are working with close coordination for the welfare of every section of the society and development of the state. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that the pace of development of the state does not get suffered due to the want of the funds. He said that the state has won first prize in the field of education which shows the commitment of the government for making Himachal Pradesh "Knowledge Hub" of the country.MLA and Chief Whip Narender Bragta said that the state is blessed to have a dynamic, hardworking and honest Chief Minister in form of Jai Ram Thakur who himself belongs to a humble background and understands the development needs and aspirations of the people. He said that several welfare schemes launched by the government which shows the commitment of the government for all-round development of the state. He said it is unfortunate that few vested interests in the state politicised the whole issue of Theog-Kotkhai-Hatkoti-Rohru road due to which the people of the area faced lot of inconvenience. He urged the Chief Minister to complete the remaining portion of the road at the earliest.Former MLA and Chairman State Cooperative Bank Khushi Ram Balnatha said the Rohru area although for years was represented by Congress, but remained ignored in matter of development. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has given special focus on development of those areas which have remained neglected so far.The BJP candidate who fought last Assembly elections from Rohru Shashi Nala detailed various development demands of the area.Mandal president Baldev Ranta welcomed the Chief Minister and other present on the occasion.MLA Balbir Verma, President Mahila Morcha, Mahsu Parveen Chajjta was also present the occasion amongst others.
