Jaitley is a migratory bird: Capt Amarinder

Former Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Amritsar Capt Amarinder Singh today warned the people of Amritsar against buying the hoax dreams of migratory birds like Arun Jaitley who had come to contest from here to keep his political ambitions alive.Addressing a massive public rally organised by OP Soni in Amritsar Central constituency here last evening, Capt Amarinder said, Jaitley had spent 14 years as a Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat. “Ask him as what he did for Gujarat during those 14 years?” he told the cheering crowd, while adding, “he will have no answers as he did nothing and that was the reason he had to fly like a migratory bird from Gujarat to Punjab as he did not find the political climate suitable there anymore”.The former Chief Minister said, when Jaitley was not true and sincere to the state that sent him to Rajya Sabha three times, to his leaders and colleague like Navjot Singh Sidhu, how could he be sincere to the people of Amritsar. “Today he is trying to sell the hoax dreams of development to you, but tell him to better ask Navjot Sidhu who was not only betrayed and backstabbed by the Akalis but by Jaitely as well”, he said. 

Addressing the rally senior Congress leader and Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma said that the state Akali-BJP government had failed to avail the various welfare central schemes. He said, it was quite strange that this government was trying to put the blame for its own failures on the central government.He also cautioned people against the pisive ideology of the BJP led by Narendra Modi. He referred to Amit Shah’s statement that Modi was bringing in tsunami. “Shah has himself said it right as Modi, like a tsunami will only leave a trail of disaster and destruction”, he remarked while appealing people to vote for Congress for a stable and progressive government at the centre.Speaking on the occasion senior Congress leader and local MLA OP Soni lashed out at the state government for ignoring Amritsar with the result city had become a slum. He said, in the fight between Sidhu and Akalis the city suffered.
