Dogra Sadar Sabha delegation meets Governor

A delegation of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) led by its President Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today. The delegation apprised Governor about the history, objectives and ongoing programmes of the Sabha and presented a copy of DSS’s resolutions passed on the 114th Annual General Council meeting of the Sabha.The Members of the delegation shared with Governor their view points about the development of the State and urged Governor to look into issues of migrants staying illegally in the  State, forced migrations from border areas of the Jammu region due  to frequent cross-border firing, conducting special recruitment drives for youth in the border areas; opening road in front of Civil Secretariat Jammu for public movement; transparency and accountability in government functioning; transparency in recruitment drives; need for Sainik Welfare Department to be looked after separately by an Advisor; issues of daily wagers, etc.

The delegation urged for synergizing efforts to revive Dogra culture and preservation of its rich heritage including launching a Duggar Channel by Door Darshan Kendra Jammu; revival of  Dogra festival, restoration of Mubarak Mandi and shifting of archives and files pertaining to Dogra Rule to the Mubarak Mandi complex.The delegation also urged for finding a permanent and peaceful solution to J&K problem and suggested separate Regional Autonomous Councils for all the three regions of  the State to ensure equitable development.Governor assured the delegation appropriate consideration of their demands. The delegation presented to Governor “Duggar Desh and Dogras”, a publication of the DSS.
