DDC Ramban reviews preparedness for implementation of AB-PMJAY

District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat who is also the chairman of the District Implementation Unit (DIU) reviewed the preparedness for the effective implementation of the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in a high-level meeting here today.ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, SDM, Banihal, Zameer Rishu, SDM, Gool, Pankaj Bagotra, CPO, Uttam Singh, CMO, Dr. Saif –ud-din Khan, Tehsildars, Bankers besides other officers and stakeholders attended the meeting.The meeting was informed that following the national launch of AB-PMJAY by the Prime Minister last month, district administration is all set to roll-out the flagship health insurance scheme on 1, December 2018.DDC said that the scheme is aimed at providing health protection cover to poor and vulnerable families to reduce their out-of-pocket expenditure on healthcare. The scheme will provide cashless and paperless access to services for the bene?ciaries at the point of service in any empanelled hospitals (both in public and private sector) across the country.The insurance coverage under AB-PMJAY will be Rs 5 lakh per family per annum with no cap on the family size. Every family under the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) database will be entitled to claim the bene?ts under the scheme with estimated 22012 families to be covered in District Ramban. DDC directed the officers to complete the registration of all the identified beneficiaries through Common Service Centres (CSCs) latest by 1st December 2018, so that Golden Card for each family is generated on time. He said the government has decided to cut the cost per registration, which is to be paid to the CSC, from Rs 30 to Rs 15 per card. He said the remaining amount will be borne by the government if the registration is done within prescribed time.Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who is also the Vice-Chairman of the DIU informed that the scheme covering surgery, medical and day care treatments including medicines and diagnostics etc.DDC called for launching a sustained awareness campaign about the Scheme at block level to inform the prospective bene?ciaries about the programme, its bene?ts, the eligibility criteria and the process to avail the bene?ts.He directed the SDMs and Tehsildars to closely monitor the progress of registration of beneficiaries under AB-PMJAY besides conducting similar meetings of all stakeholders.    He also directed the officers to utilise services of ASHAS and Anganwari workers for making scheme successful. Officers were directed to submit progress report on daily basis to Liaison Officer.
