DC Reasi approves DCP under Poshan Abhiyaan

District Development Commissioner Reasi, Prasanna Ramaswamy G approved District Convergence Plan (DCP)under Poshan Abhiyaan in a meeting held at the district headquarters today.The Plan was submitted by PO-ICDS Reasi, Surender Mohan Sharma and was prepared keeping in consideration various indicators and interventions to prevent and eradicate malnourishment viz. Stunting, Wasting, Low Birth, Weight and Anaemia.Target groups of children (0-6 years), adolescents (11-18), pregnant women and lactating mothers, to be benefitted by the plan were also demarcated.The DC laid emphasis on ensuring focussed interventions on areas like Infant Young Child Feeding Practices (IYCF), optimal breastfeeding practices, management and prevention of diarrhoea, Home Based New Born Care (HBNC), food fortification, complementary feeding and behavioural change through involvement of all converging departments.

Decision such as rapid constitution of committees for preventing Anaemia among adolescents, improving infrastructure of Anganwadi centres, capacity building of frontline workers and leveraging their presence as an advantage were also taken in the meeting. Detailed discussion was also held on various indicators covering maternal and child health, nutrition, promotion of safe drinking water and sanitation facilities etc.Those present at the meeting included SDM Dharmari Sushil Kesar, SDM Katra Ashok Kumar,  Assistant Commissioner Development MY Malik, PO-ICDS Reasi Surinder Mohan Sharma, CMO Reasi Parminder Singh, CDPO Arnas Ramesh Chander, CDPO Mahore Anjum Ganai, CDPO Pouni Aslam Anjum and Swachh Bharat Prerak Ravish Singh Rana among others.
