Inclusive Involvement Of Mansa's Youth In Welfare Activities : Apneet Riyait

Under the aegis of Youth Services Department, youngsters organized 12 blood donation camps besides rallies and seminars and planted 21000 saplings

Deputy Commissioner Mansa Apneet Riyait has said that with the efforts of the Youth Services Department, youth of the district have participated in large number in various social welfare activities.She said that 12 blood donation camps have been organized by the youths in different villages of the district this year, in which more than 550 donors contributed to the welfare of mankind by donating blood. She said that under the guidance of the youth welfare department, members of different youth clubs have planted 21000 saplings in different villages under Tandarust Punjab Mission.

Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the youth services department in giving proper guidance to the youth, the Deputy Commissioner said that morning walk program was jointly conducted by the youth services department and youth clubs to encourage people towards physical activities in villages, in which thousands of people participated. She said that from August 15 to September 15, morning walks were held in 96 villages. More than two thousand people took part in these events and they have vowed to make morning walk a part of their daily life.She said that the youth of the district are also leading in efforts of the government to root out drug menace from the state. 

She said that in the presence of Punjab Sports and Youth Services Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, 1000 youngsters of the district administered oath to keep themselves away from drugs at Dhaipai Stadium in september this year.Mr. Raghbir Singh Mann, Assistant Director, Youth Affairs Department said that apart from the active involvement of youth in various welfare activities, they are also provided the platform to sync with the youngsters of other states for healthy discussions and under this, about 60 youths of the district have got the opportunity for hacking and tracking in six camps organized in the hills of Himachal Pradesh.He said that 211 youths have been registered with the youth services department. “Since the assumption of my post in 2013, different clubs have organized total 60 blood donation camps, in which more than 2250 people have donated blood”, he added.Mr. Mann said that besides this, rallies and seminars have also been organized time to time against social evils and to save the environment from pollution. He informed that out of total 3100 NSS volunteers, 2300 NSS volunteers of Mansa were helped the management of Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant to set a record of plantation 2 lakh 5 thousand saplings in only 55 minutes.
