Minister directs to speed up construction of health institution buildings

Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar instructed to speed up the construction works of all under construction buildings of health institutions in different parts of the state. He said that despite having adequate budgetary provision, unnecessary delays were not justified as this increases the project costs and people also don't get benefits in time.He was presiding over the state level review meeting of the health department here today. He said that the state government had provided adequate funds for construction of ten civil hospitals in different districts and work on most of these projects has been started. He said that the electricity department has been directed to install transformer in the new block of KNH Shimla, which would be dedicated soon.He directed to complete formalities for acquisition of land to shift district hospital Solan to the bypass as per the long pending demand of the local residents. He expressed dissatisfaction over the ongoing construction work of operation theatre in super specialty block of Tanda medical college and directed to ensure that there were no lapses in this work. 

He said that Rs. 8.50 crores have been approved for construction of PG hostel in this medical college for which the process should be finalized at the earliest.Vipin Singh Parmar directed to establish 130 wellness centres in various hospitals of the state along with imparting training to the staff to facilitate the common citizens. He said that all the six medical colleges of the state were being provided modern facilities like CT scan and MRI and new OPD would be constructed in IGMC Shimla, besides expansion of Chamba medical college.The Minister directed to complete the process for filling up of 200 posts of doctors through public service commission and 2000 posts of para medical staff through employees selection commission, Hamirpur.Additional Chief Secretary, Health R.D. Dhiman, Special Secretary Health, Dr. Nipun Jindal, Director Health Dr. Ajay Gupta, Mission Director NHM, Manmohan Sharma, Director Medical Education, Dr. Ashok Sharma were also present in the meeting.
