SAAYA NGO and Department of Students Welfare,UoK organizes blood donation camp at KU.

SAAYA, law students based NGO in collaboration with the Department of Students Welfare (DSW) University of Kashmir on Tuesday organized blood donation camp at the Lawns of Gandhi Bhawan, University Of Kashmir.Students and teachers from various departments and volunteers from outside university participated in the event. Both male and females students donated blood at the camp.Meanwhile, the Members of the organization also donated blood in the event.The organizers of the event said that the aim of organizing the blood donation was to create the habit among people for donating blood for a good cause.They said that it was not necessary to donate blood here only; they can donate blood at SMHS or SKIMS Soura for a good use.We should donate our blood every year for those who have dire need of it and are unable to buy it from the market.The students who donated their blood at the camp expressed their happiness over the initiative taken by the SAAYA NGO and Department of Students Welfare, UoK.The donation camp started at 11:30 am and concluded at 03:00 pm.

The Registrar University of Kashmir, Prof. Nilofer Khan, Dean Faculty of Law, Prof. Muhammad Hussain and Dean Students Welfare Kashmir University Prof. Raies Qadri jointly inaugurated the event.Prof. Nilofer Khan, Registrar Kashmir University, said that the university administration would continue to support such events in future also and said that university teachers and students should come forward whenever they see any person in need of blood.Prof. Muhammad Hussain, Dean Law Kashmir University, while congratulating the members of Saaya NGO said that I am proud that law students are always leading from the front for the betterment of society. Prof. Raies Qadri, Dean Student Welfare, appreciated the members of Saaya NGO and his department staff for organizing such events. He said ,  “Humanity can be served best by donating blood voluntarily to the needy,” Around 100 points of blood were collected on the occasion.The event was supported by Red Cross Society J&K Branch, JKAPCS and SBI.
