Special Checking To Check Adulteration Of Eatables Should Be Carried Before Diwali: ADC (Development)

To Check Dengue, Fogging To Be Ensured In High Risk Areas Daily

While chairing a meeting of the District Health Society, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal asked the Civil Surgeon and all SMO’s to ensure special checking of eatables before Diwali and other festivals. She said that the officials should take samples of eatables to check adulteration so that people get only good quality eatables. She said that those indulging in adulteration of food would not be spared at any cost. She asked all SMO’s to hold meetings with shopkeepers, sweetmeat shop owners and dairy owners in their respective areas and desist them from selling either adulterated or poor quality eatables.Dr Shena Aggarwal directed the officials of Health Department to ensure that residents get good quality eatables under Mission Tandrust Punjab.The ADC (D) directed the health department officials people should be educated about the ways through which they can save themselves from Dengue. She directed District Education Officer (Elementary and Secondary) to make the students aware about Dengue during their morning prayers and also ask them to wear full sleeve shirts. She directed the Health Department and MC officials to carry out fogging in high risk areas daily in morning and evening.

She ordered that officials should ensure that daily area wise report regarding fogging reaches her office without any delay. She also directed the officials of Health Department, DDPO and all Executive Officers to ensure fogging in their respective areas.The ADC (D) directed the Health Department officials to make sure maximum registration is done to ensure better health of children, women and pregnant women living in slums under the National Rural Health Mission.Civil Surgeon Ludhiana informed that the number of home deliveries have decreased. The ADC (D) also reviewed the progress of various schemes such as Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana, PSPNDT scheme, mobile unit, immunisation, school health programme, TB control programme, Chief Minister Cancer Relief Scheme, Urban Health Mission, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, water sampling, Bhagat Puran Singh Insurance Scheme, drug de-addiction centre, and several schemes under Mission Tandrust Punjab.On this occasion, the ADC (D) also released a booklet titled “Changi Sehat Changi Soch” published under Mission Tandrust Punjab. District Health Officer Mrs Adesh Kang informed that this booklet consists of information related to important tips for sweetmeat shop owners and others regarding ways in which they can prepare safe and healthy products.
