Minister Holds Meeting With Officials Of Water Supply & Sanitation Department At Pau Today

Razia Sultana, Cabinet Minister for Water Supply & Sanitation and Higher Education Punjab today addressed a meeting cum workshop of all Junior Engineers, Sub Divisional Engineers, Executive Engineers, Superintending Engineers and Chief Engineers of Water Supply & Sanitation Department in the presence of Department’s secretary Jaspreet Kaur Talwar at Punjab Agricultural University, here. This meeting cum workshop was organised to ensure that the department progresses in the positive direction.This was for the first time in the history of this department, that the minister interacted with all officials, beginning from Junior Engineers to Chief Engineers, under the same roof and discussed in detail as to how the department can be taken forward.In her keynote address, Secretary of the department briefed in detail about the new policies and programmes of the department such as revenue policy for collection of water bills, recruitment of 210 new Junior Engineers, besides others. 

She said that the department is forming sections, that would work as field offices, and would have a JE level officer for 20-30 villages. She said that with the formation of these field sections, the redressal of complaints related to the department would be quick and the collection of water supply bills would also be 100%.Chief Engineers SK Jain, Rajinder Singh and Anil Bansal also gave presentations regarding the policies of the department.Later, Minister Razia Sultana interacted with the officers and heard their grievances. She also appreciated suggestions given by some of the officials. While addressing the gathering, the minister stated that each and every engineer should understand his duty and perform it with utmost devotion and honesty. She also clarified that those officials who do not perform, strict departmental action would be taken against them.She also gave her separate WhatsApp number, where any official can send his complaints or suggestions directly to the minister. She also directed that photographs of ongoing development works should also be uploaded on this number.
