DDC Kupwara chairs DLRC meeting

District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today chaired a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to review the achievements made at the end of first quarter of the current financial year 2018-19 and targets fixed under Annual District Credit Plan 2018-19 and other related issues.During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on the confirmation of decision taken in the last DLRC meeting and other financial assistance schemes under banking sector launched by the State and Central government for the welfare of backward and weaker section of the society.The meeting was informed about achievements made by the banks upto 30-06-2018 vis-é-vis targets under District Annual Credit Plan.It was given out that the achievements under ACP 2018-19 for the district stood at Rs 282.51 Crore as on 30-06-2018 which constitutes 31% against the target of Rs 922.22 Crore. The achievements under priority sector advances were to the tune of Rs 154.79 Crore against the target of 1773.17 Crore for FY 2018-19 which constitutes 2934 while as under non-priority sector the achievements are to the tune of Rs 127.72 Crore against the target of Rs 149.05 Crore for FY 2018~19 which constitutes 86%.The deposits of the banks in the District were to the tune of Rs 2088 Crore as on 30-06-2018 compared to Rs 1968 Crore as on 30-06-2017 thereby registering an increase of Rs 120 Crore. 

The advances of the banks stood at Rs 1798 Crore as on 30-06-2018 against Rs 1329 Crore as on 30-06-2017 thereby registering an increase of Rs 469 Crore which works out to be 35%. The CD ratio of the District as on 30-06-2018 stands at 86%.The financial experts provided suggestions and feedback about the achievements during the first quarter besides improving the working of the financial institutions under ACP 2018-19 for achieving the set goals. On the occasion, the DDC instructed the concerned agencies for disposing of the pendencies so that more income generating units are created in the district to address unemployment and improving socio-economic conditions of people. He impressed upon all the concerned executing, implementing and sponsoring agencies to conduct frequent awareness camps in the district by involving the local legislators so that the general public especially youth of the district are educated about the welfare and developmental schemes launched by the government.The meeting was attended by Lead Bank Manager, representatives from banking fraternity, Joint Director Planning, lmtiyaz Ahmad, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Ashaq Ahmad Malik, Regional Manager JK Grameen Bank, Abdul Khaliq Malik, District coordinators of other banks and District Heads, representatives from various Government Departments, sponsoring agencies and others concerned.
