Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today celebrated Vijayadashami at famous Jakhu temple by burning the effigy of Ravana, Megnadh and Kumbhakarna.Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the festival symbolises victory of Good (Dharma) over evil (Adharma).Alternatively it marks a reverence for one of the aspects of goddess Durga, he added. He urged the people to work collectively to kill the demon of drug abuse from the society.Earlier, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of religious museum at Jakhu temple complex to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 9 lakh. He also performed puja at the famous temple. He was honoured by the temple committee on the occasion.Wife of the Chief Minister Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Chief Whip and MLA Narinder Bragta, Chairman MILKFED Ganesh Dutt, Chief Secretary B.K. Agarwal, Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Kusum Sadrate, Dy. Mayor Rakesh Sharma, RSS Prant Pracharak Sanjeevan, General Secretary Child Welfare Council Payal Vaidya, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap, SP Omapati Jamwal were present on the occasion among others.
