ADGP Armed Conducts joint darbar of Jawans of IR-6th and JKAP-5th Bns. at PCR, Srinagar

A.K Choudhary IPS ADGP Armed J&K today addressed a joint darbar of officers/ officials of AP-5th and IR-6th Battalions at PCR premises Srinagar. The ADGP was accompanied by his Staff Officer SSP Mehmood Ahmad, Dy.SP (Pers.) APHQ Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Wani. Other senior officers present in the darbar include Shri T.R Katoch Commandant AP-5th and Shri S.S Kotwal Commandant IR-6th battalions and Coy Commanders of all Coys of the two Bns. During darbar officers/ officials of the battalions put-forth their personal and general reports. The ADGP Armed patiently heard their reports and assured that appropriate action on the issues under his competency shall be taken at APHQ level and others shall be taken-up with the concerned authorities. During darbar, the ADGP Armed J&K briefed the officers/ officials on different issues relating to security scenario of the state and functioning affairs of the units besides welfare of the Jawans. He informed officers/ officials present in darbar that government has taken a lot of welfare measures including career progression chances at NGO level. 

The ADGP advised them to maintain the highest standard of the discipline while performing the assigned duties. He stressed upon the officers that they have to take care and maintain their personal health against all odds and advised them to strictly follow the hygienic/ nutritious diet. He stressed for taking up regular exercise/ PT/ Yoga/ Gym etc to avoid age related health issues. The ADGP Armed informed darbar that APHQ has taken up the strict measures for conducting DPC biannually. He disclosed that promotion process of different ranks has already been initiated at APHQ level. ADGP stressed upon the officers/ officials to wear uniform in proper pattern and maintain high level of discipline wherever they are deployed. He also briefed the Jawans that they should not use mobile phones during duty hours as this affects adversely in their alertness and as such leads to avoidable security hazards. The ADGP advised the Jawans that in view of the present security scenario of the state they should adopt the principle of “always expect unexpected” and as such their alertness can effectively face the challenges of unexpected nature.Earlier, both Commandants AP-5th and IR-6th Bns. apprised the ADGP about the functioning affairs of their respective battalions.
