Mega camps organized by the district administration in all sub divisions of Jalandhar to provide citizen centric services to people at their doorsteps under Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) today got massive response from people as around 7654 beneficiaries availed different services in these camps.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the district administration had organized these camps to facilitate the people for getting the facilities of pro-people schemes of the state government under single roof. He further said that for areas falling under Sub Division Jalandhar I camp was organized at Government Senior Secondary School Jamsher, for Sub Division II the venue was at Gakhal Palace in village Gakhal, for Nakodar Sub Division venue was at Guru Nanak National College (Boys), for Phillaur Sub Division at Community Hall and for Shahkot it was at Auditorium in Public Senior Secondary School. He said that all the key departments of the state government including Health and Family Welfare, Social Security, Agriculture, Cooperative, Employment Generation, Revenue and others were roped in to deliver services to the people during these camps in which special stalls would be installed by them.The Deputy Commissioner said that during the camps 3500 people were selected for the pensions including Old Age, Handicap and Widow. Likewise, he said that 1078 beneficiaries were issued bus passé, 1587 were issued drinking water connections, 1200 were issued job cards under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 144 were issued Labour registration certificates and 156 youth were given Job letters under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna. Meanwhile, Mr. Sharma patted the officers/ officials for making these camps, aimed at serving the people of district, a huge success.
