Giving a final touch to the Walkathon and Cyclothon being organized by the district administration to disseminate the message of clean, green and pollution free Jalandhar on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Diperva Lakra today released the T-shirts for upcoming event.Interacting with the media persons here at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Commissioner said that during the Swachthon, organized under the Tandarust Punjab Mission and Swachta Abhiyaan, thousands of volunteers from across the district would participate to disseminate message cleanliness. They said that the walkathon would commence from Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and culminate back there after passing through Chun-Mun Chowk, APJ School, BMC Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk and Milk Bar Chowk. Likewise, they said that the Cyclothon would start from Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and culminate at the same venue after passing through Guru Amar Dass Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Dr. Ambedkar (Nakodar) Chowk, FootbalL Chowk , Kapurthala Chowk, Workshop Chowk and Burlton park.

The Deputy Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner further said that the unique initiative of the district administration would be a humble but befitting tribute to the father of the nation on his birth anniversary.They said that both these events would start at 6 am in the morning and elaborate arrangements would be made by the district civil and Police administration for this mega event. They also solicited fulsome support and cooperation of the people of district for making this mega event a huge success.On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jitendra Jorwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. PBS Parmar, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr. Paramveer Singh, Assistant Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ms. Aashika Jain, District Sports Officer Mr. Balwinder Singh, Coach Mr. Umesh Sharma, Social Activist Ms. Veenu Kamboj and others were also present.
