Anti-Larva Team Issues Three Challans, 28 Cases Only In Aman Nagar, Larva Found In Coolers, Flower Pots And Buckets

In its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases in the city under Tandarust Punjab Mission, a joint team of the health department and Municipal Corporation Jalandhar (MCJ) spotted 54 dengue larva cases in various localities of the city.Teams of anti-larva wing led by Sukhjinder Singh, Gurwinder Bajwa,  Sarbjeet, Raj Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar and others carried the inspection in Aman Nagar, Ram Nagar, New Amar Nagar, New Shital Nagar, Madan Vihar, FCI colony and Urban Estate Phase-II.During the checking, the teams visited 431 houses, checked 177 air coolers, 134 waste containers and 19 abundant lying tyres.The teams’ members detected 28 larva cases in Aman Nagar, six in Urban Estate, four in Madan Vihar, six in New Amar Nagar, five in Ram Nagar and five in New Sheetal Nagar.The larva mostly was found in desert coolers, flower pots, buckets and other water containers. The teams' members also interacted with the local residents and asked them to refrain from storing water in containers and air coolers as it could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes that were the carriers of diseases like dengue, malaria and others.They also informed the people about the ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ that was aimed at ensuring the overall wellness of the people of the district.
