Jai Ram Thakur inaugurates five day Shimla Classical Musical Festival

Classical music has the power to touch the very soul of human being and we are fortunate that this music had originated from our country. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the inauguration session of five day long Shimla Classical Musical Festival organised by the State Language and Culture Department at historic Gaiety Theatre, here today.Chief Minister said that since time immemorial Music and dance have been integral part of our society for recreation and entrainment. He said that such events not only help in providing wholesome entrainment to the people, but it also helps in preserving the rich cultural repository of the State. He said that the people of the State as well at the tourist would get an opportunity to entertain themselves with performance of classical music.

Jai Ram Thakur congratulated the State Language and Culture Department for organising this event. He said that this would indeed prove to be a grand success and become a regular feature.Director Art Language and Culture  Rakesh Kumar Korla welcomed the   Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He also detailed various events to be organised during this five day event.Padam Bhushan Dr. N. Rajan along with her three generations enthralled the gathering with a soulful performance on violin.Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Kusum Sadrate, Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma, Secretary Language and Culture Dr. Purnima Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Amit Kashyap, Director Information and Public Relations  Anupam Kashyap and other art lovers were present on the occasion.
