People will remind Modi of false promises in next polls : Ghulam Ahmad Mir

Scores of Congress workers on Monday staged demonstrations against the Modi-led government over skyrocketing prices of the essential commodity in response to the ‘Bharat Bandh’ call.JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir along with his dozens of supporters converged at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk and staged a strong protest against Modi-led NDA government, reports reaching newsgathering agency Global News Service (GNS) said.The Congress workers led by Mir were raising slogans against Modi over government's policies for rising inflation and devaluation of Indian rupee besides skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.“Today, we are protesting against the unabated price hike of essential commodities. People are suffering due to the wrong police of Modi government,” JKPCC President said while talking to the reporters.Mir said that his party raised the issue of higher fuel taxes in and out of the Parliament but Modi government continued with its policies.“Modi government is taking a tax of Rs 40 in fuel products. Today, we are sending a message to PM Modi to reduce taxes on fuel by Rs 20-25 so that it helps people to feed their families,” Mir said.“If you don’t do it now, the people in next elections will remind PM Modi of false promises and Jumlas,” he added.
