Kidney transplant facility at IGMCH Shimla from next year: Vipin Singh Parmar

Kidney transplant facility will be made available in Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla from next year for which required infrastructure and medical and paramedical staff is being managed.This was stated by Health and Family welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar while chairing a meeting with senior officers of Health department at IGMCH, Shimla to review the health facilities and departmental construction activities in the state.He stressed that the Chief Minister has made various announcements for providing primary health services in the health institutes of the state, on which the work should be completed as soon as possible so that people could be benefitted. He also directed to speed up the works on construction of new health institutes in the state along-with ensuring quality in construction work.Vipin Singh Parmar directed the Principals of various state medical colleges and other concerned officers to submit him a detailed report regarding shortage of faculty, machinery and equipments and shortcomings pointed out by Medical Council of India during inspection of these institutes.He directed to complete the remaining construction works of Ner Chowk Medical College and Sarai Bhawan at IGMCH, Shimla.The Health Minister said the Chief Minister would soon inaugurate super specialty facility in Ner Chowk Medical College.Additional Chief Secretary, Health B.K Aggarwal directed the administration of medical colleges to complete tendering process for construction of new medical colleges in the state at the earliest.Special Secretary, Health Dr. Nipun Jindal, Principal, IGMCH Shimla Dr. Ravi Sharma, Director, Medical Education Ashok Sharma, Principal, Medical College Hamirpur Anil Chauhan, Medical Superintendent, IGMCH Dr. Janak Raj, Principal, Dental College Shimla Dr. Asha and other senior officers of the Health department attended the meeting.
