Balanced and equitable development of all areas of the State with special focus on those areas which have remained neglected due to one reason or other is the main objective of the State Government. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a well attended public meeting at Dhanali in Kullu district today.Jai Ram Thakur said that roads were the lifeline of development in the hilly areas, thus the government was committed for connecting all the villages of the State with motorable roads. He said that rural connectivity not only ensure economic activities but also generate employment and self-employment opportunities to the rural youth.The Chief Minister said he was grateful to the people of the State and Central BJP leadership for entrusting the responsibility to head the State on him. He said that from the day one, the State Government was working with dedication and commitment to come up to the expectations of the people of the State. He assured the people that funds would not come in way of development of the State.He announced opening of IPH Sub Division Shata. He said that for better road connectivity in the area, separate PWD Division would be setup at Kullu. He also announced Rs 5 lakh each for Pini and Kalpini Panchayats.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated 56.40 meter span steel truss deck type bridge over Parvati river constructed at a cost of Rs 281.13 lakh and Sharni to Pini road constructed at a cost of Rs 604.80 lakh under the PMGSY. He also flagged off a bus on this route.Member of  Parliament Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma said that with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur at the State, the country and Himachal Pradesh were poised to scale new milestones in the  matter of development. He said that roads worth Rs 250 crore sanctioned by the Centre Government were being constructed in the Kullu district.Former MP Maheshwar Singh said that being the remote area of the district, Dhanali require special attention in matter of development, so that it could progress with other areas. He also detailed few developmental demands of the area.Pradhan of Local Panchayat detailed various developmental demands of the area.MLA Surinder Shourie, Kullu district BJP President Bhim Sain, Zila Parishad Chairperson Rohini Chaudhary, BJP leader Yuvraj Bodh were present on the occasion among others.
