Women Leadership Development training under Nai Roshani concludes

CDPO highlights women empowerment schemes, distributes cheques

The Destitute And Handicapped Welfare Association (DAHWA) today concluded its fourth 6-day training programme for minority/rural women, at Bharnara village, in Udhampur district organized under Nai Roshani scheme of Union Ministry for Minority Affairs for Leadership Development of Minority women, concluded here today.Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Anuradha Sharma, who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the importance and role of Anganwari centers in the welfare of children and women besides elucidating the schemes of Social Welfare department meant for development of women. She also educated the trainees about various government schemes meant for socio-economic emancipation of womenfolk and exhorted upon them to optimally utilize these schemes for good of their community. She distributed cheques, as stipend, among the trainees.Anuradha appreciated the enthusiasm of the trainees and asked them to recognize their power and potential in transforming their world for a better tomorrow besides contributing towards the cause of the society. She exhorted upon them to adopt self employment ventures available under different schemes of government to live an independent and dignified life. She asked them to properly make the most of this training for their socio-economic empowerment.The CDPO complimented DAHWA for their hard efforts in successful implementation of this women oriented scheme and stressed on the need of organizing more such camps which are of paramount importance for empowerment of under privileged women. 

During the training camp, being organized by DAHWA, the resource persons educated the trainees on different topics like Leadership, Educational Empowerment, Health and Hygiene, Swachh Bharat, Financial System, Life Skills, Legal Rights, Digital Literacy and Advocacy through the printed literature and audio-visuals. The trainees were also given lectures by the experts of various government departments on their respective schemes. Besides, the camp witnessed lectures by departmental experts from Social Welfare, agriculture, Horticulture and allied departments.Earlier, during the five days of the camp various government representatives including Tehsildar Rajender Kumar, who elaborated on Public Service Guarantee Act and other social issues, BDO Pritam Lal Sharma, who highlighted in detail the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission and related schemes besides experts from Agriculture, Rural Development Department, ICDS and allied departments raised awareness among the participants on their respective schemes.DAHWA Chairman, S.S.Sumbria, expressed gratitude to the district administration especially Deputy Commissioner Ravinder Kumar for his cooperation and support in successful implementation of this training programme. He hoped that the district administration would continue its support to the organization in effective implementation of such programmes.The trainees were provided literature kits containing training modules prescribed by the Ministry besides were also served lunch during the 6-day training programme. The Resource persons who conducted the training were Miss Geeta Devi and Miss Neelam Devi while Ayushi Billawaria was the batch Coordinator.
