Leaders across party lines today paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee during a “Prarthana Sabha” organised at Guru Nanak Bhawan, here. Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while MP Ravneet Singh Bittu attended the function on behalf of Punjab government.While addressing the gathering, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda lauded the late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s contribution to the nation. He said that his leadership, foresight, maturity put him in a league of his own and will be missed by one and all.MP Ravneet Singh Bittu said that Atal BihariVajpayee never hesitated to speak from his heart and his passing away marks the end of an era. He said that the 93-year-old poet-politician is known for his vigour and maintaining cordial relations with his political rivals.BJP State President Shwait Malik said that the former Prime Minister dedicated his life to the cause of the common people and the downtrodden section of the society.

In a statement issued today, Punjab Cabinet Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that with the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India has lost a great leader who was loved by all.A two minutes silence was observed in the former PM’s memory.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Ludhiana Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Charanjit Singh Atwal, senior BJP leaders Manoranjan Kalia, Madan Mohan Mittal, Ashwani Sharma, Jagdish Sahni, Arunesh Shakir, Prof Rajinder Bhandari, Anil Sareen, Kamal Chatley, former SAD MLAs Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, former Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria, District Bar Association President Parupkar Singh Ghuman, SAD leader Jagbir Singh Sokhi, besides several others.
