Deputy Commissioner Constitutes Special Investigative Committee For Checking Of Works Done By Municipalities

Committee Will Check The Works Done During Last 03 Years, Directions Issued To Submit The Report By Next Month

'It has come to my notice through the public, various social media reports and news papers that the civic facilities in Zirakpur, Derabassi and Lalru  are not adequate despite sufficient funds have been expended by the authorities. Following this special committee has been constituted for the checking of the development works done from January 01, 2015 to January 01, 2018 by Municipal committee  Zirakpur, Derabassi and Nagar Panchayat Lalru,  especially regarding sewerage works, storm water drainage and water supply.' Disclosing this here at District Administrative Complex Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar said that this Committee would submit its report by September 28, 2018. Further action would be taken on the basis of the report.

Giving further details, Deputy Commissioner said that during the rainy season there had been persistent reporting about inadequate drainage on main roads, bad disposal of rain water and related issues causing intense damage to the roads of that area also. She said that it seems that no action had been taken by the EO's of these Municipalities; therefore, the above mentioned committee would check the work done by these municipalities. She said, 'Paramjeet Singh, SDM Derabassi is the Chairman of the Committee and Paramjeet Singh, Naib Tehsildar, Zirakpur, N.I.S Walia XEN CWD, SAS Nagar, Kuldeep Singh Garcha, XEN, Panchayati Raj, SAS Nagar and Davinder Singh, XEN, Drainage Division are included as members in the Committee.'
