DDC Rajouri finalises roadmap for Khelo India

Takes stock of SBM, SSG, Anti-encroachment drive

District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting of district officers in connection with the engagement of youth in sports activities and to finalize a roadmap for Khelo India programme.The meeting was attended by ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, CPO Abdul Hamid, Additional SP Mohd Yousaf, DYSSO Swarn Singh, ACD Akhter Hussain Qazi, DPO Abdul Khabir, ExEn PWD Mushtaq Raina, DEPO Gulzar Hussain, Tehsildars, Block Development officers, District officers, NYK besides other officers.The DDC directed the DYSSO to finalize the arrangements for Sports Festival followed by cultural evening at District Headquarter in the first week of September to promote the sports activities in the district. He was further directed to issue Sports Calendar and to share the same with all line departments and other stake holders for wide publicity and participation to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship among youth.Interaction of eminent sports personalities with players shall be a special part of the programme and youth shall be facilitated on constructive lines, he added.The DDC also directed for finalizing the games like Wrestling, Kabbaddi, Kho Kho, Tug of War and others for which tournaments shall be conducted under Khelo India. He directed the officers to encourage the youth to take part in sports activities for their overall physical and mental development.Integrated Sports Action Plan was also discussed during the meeting.

The DDC directed Tehsildars to identify the land measuring 3 to 5 Kanals in their respective Tehsils to develop 130 fields in the district, with one Sports field for 2-3 nearby villages. Tehsildar Rajouri was directed to identify 15 kanals of land at Rajouri Town to develop a multipurpose sports field for organizing various sports events. ACD Rajouri was asked to chalk out a plan to develop Sports fields under convergence mode.It was also decided in the meeting that the dysfunctional buildings of School Education Departments shall be converted into Youth Clubs, for which BDOs shall furnish the estimates along within a week.In another meeting, the DDC reviewed the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and sought report on Swachh Survekshan Gramin (SSG). DPO Abdul Khabir informed that the district has already been declared as Open Defecation Free (ODF) and the district has achievement 100% target of around 98000 Toilets in various Panchayats.Status regarding payments to beneficiaries also reviewed under SBM and directions were issued to complete the process within week.The DDC, while reviewing the status of Geo tagging under SBM and PMAY, issued directions to further expedite the pace to complete the target of by August 31,2018. ACD informed that during the current year, Rs 1046 lakhs have been utilized for providing shelter to homeless people and till date around 537 units stands completed, physically.The DDC also reviewed the progress of anti-encroachment drive and eviction of encroached lands in various Tehsils and asked the Tehsildars to keep up the momentum.All Tehsildars were directed to submit the details of retrieved land to ACR.
