Capt Amarinder walks through main market in Moga

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today walked through one of the busiest and main markets in Moga for over an hour and talked to the people there, who while extending heartiest welcome to him listed their problems also.The PCC president took everybody by surprise when he instantly stopped in the main market here and got down the car. He started walking in the market much to the pleasant surprise of the people in the market. His security staff had to do a tough job controlling the people who surrounded him and wanted to shake hands with him. A number of people also stopped him to get photographed with him.He was accompanied by the election incharge Rana Gurjeet, Chaudhary Santokh, Karanpal Sekhon, Milkiat Singh Birmi, Jagdeep Sidhu, Sonu Dhesi and others.

The people were overwhelmed with emotions as he went into various shops and talked to the shopkeepers and people walking by. Some people also raised slogans in his support to which he urged them that he had come to meet them and inquire about their problems.While the people complained against the government, however their anger was mainly directed at Joginderpal Jain, who deserted Congress and defected to Akali Dal. Most of the people the PCC president met complained to him that they had voted for Jain who had betrayed them.One shopkeeper said, no matter who was going to be the Congress candidate in Moga, he would vote to get Jain defeated so that he realises what it means to betray the people’s trust.The people also complained about other day to day problems. They said, there was no electricity even during the winters. People were upset with the property tax that the government has recently imposed.

Capt Amarinder came across several youth who were highly educated like having done masters, management and engineering but were unemployed. He shared their concern and said, he was himself worried about 50 lakh unemployed people in the state. He urged people to use this chance to show their resentment against the government and Jain also so that he learns a lesson as what it means to betray his own people.
