Rseti Showing Positive Results In Barnala, 2513 Out Of 3700 Started Their Own Businesses : Dharam Pal Gupta

To empower the unemployed rural youth of the district, several training programmes are being run by Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) that are showing positive results. While disclosing the information, Deputy Commissioner Barnala Dharam Pal Gupta said that out of total 3,700 trainees as many as 2513 have started their own businesses in their respective stream. DC added that from April 2018, as many as 221 trainees have been trained out of which 179 were female candidates and remaining 42 were male. He added that most of them also belonged to poor and needy families as out of total 221, as many as 165 were from BPL families.Recently, a batch of 34 trainees have also successfully completed the training of dairy farming and vermin-compost at village Jagjitpura and a batch of 23 girls have also been awarded certificates after completion of cutting and tailoring course from the institute.

Deputy Commissioner said that directions have been issued to the officials of various private and government sector banks to clear the pending loan cases of beneficiaries sponsored by this institute so that the beneficiaries trained by RSETI can start their own businesses and become self dependent. He appreciated RSETI for training the unemployed youth and making them self dependent. He said that efforts are afoot to ensure that more people are taken in the ambit of RSETI to create employment opportunities.SBI-RSETI Barnala Director Dr. Satpal Garg informed that people falling in Below Poverty Line (BPL) category were also being trained in the institute so that they can become self dependent. He said that once a person gets training from RSETI, he/she gets loan on priority basis from banks. He added that the institute has been running various self employment courses including dairy, vermin compost, pickle-papad and garam masala preparation, beauty parlour and tailoring.
