The Indian Army showcased its wide range of capabilities by organising a Weapon & Equipment and a Band display as part of ‘Know Your Army’ initiative on the eve of Independence Day in Ferozepur Cantonment on 14 Aug 18 A wide range of small arms, communication setup and other specialist equipment used by various wings of the Army were displayed to kindle the patriotic fervor and pride amongst the youth and to motivate them for serving the nation. ‘Empowerment through Awareness’ was achieved wherein a large number of school & college students, government dignitaries and local population from adjoining villages enthusiastically attended the event. The students were excited to get a first-hand experience of weapons while many students got a chance to lay their hands on military equipment.An information counter with detailed information regarding various entry schemes to join the Indian Army was also setup to provide guidance to the students during the display.The Military Band played and marched to traditional martial tunes and enthralled the crowd with its Majestic display. The event drew overwhelming response from the people.A flag hosting ceremony was also organized on the occasion of Independence Day at Serenity Park, Ferozepur Cantonment.  The National flag was hoisted by Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu, General Officer Commanding, Golden Arrow Division and the ceremony was attended by locals including Police Officials and Civil dignitaries.
