Continuing its drive to wipe out the possibilities of vector-borne diseases under ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ in the district, the anti-larva cell of the Health Department spotted 22 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city on Friday.Nine teams led by Sukhjinder Singh, Balwinder Singh,  Gurwinder Singh Bajwa, Sarbjeet Singh, Raj Kumar, Sarwan Singh, Rajan Kumar, Gurpal Singh and Dharam Raj undertook the checking at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Kabir Nagar, Meritorious School, DC complex, SDM Office, Eye Mobile Unit Office, Basti Bawa Khel and Golden Avenue-II.During the checking, the team members found six cases in Kabir Nagar, eight in Golden Avenue-II, one case in Meritorious School and seven in Basti Bawa Khel.The teams also covered population of 843, checked 107 air coolers and 65 containers. They also carried out spray in 260 rooms of these localities. The team also distributed 1000 chlorine tablets.The team members also talked  with the people during the drive and apprised them that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
