Reiterates Firm Commitment Of State Government To Provide Services To People In Time-Bound Manner

Reiterating firm commitment of state government to provide services to people in a time bound and hassle free manner, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today asked the management of the ‘Sewa Kendra’ at the local District Administrative Complex (DAC) to either mend their ways or face the music.The Deputy Commissioner, who conducted a surprise check at the Sewa Kendra today, expressed his complete dissatisfaction over the ways the things were moving at the centre. He said that the poor facilities and lack luster approach of the officials working here was in contrary to the basic essence of the Captain Amarinder Singh government’s commitment to provide citizen centric services to the people within stipulated manner. Mr. Sharma said that this could not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the staff members who would not mend their working styles.Taking strict note of the non-functional air conditioners and majority of counters at the Sewa Kendra, the Deputy Commissioner said that these should be made operational within 72 hours. 

He also said that as per the new guidelines of the state government services must be provided to people within 25 minutes of getting the token. Sharma said that this norm must be implemented in the right earnest.The Deputy Commissioner also warned the staff working in the Sewa Kendras to be polite and courteous to the people as they were here to serve them. He said that the work distribution to the staff members must be done in a proper manner so that it was streamlined thoroughly. Mr. Sharma also had detailed interaction with the people present on the occasion regarding the functioning of the sewa Kendra.The Deputy Commissioner also announced that administration would do strict monitoring of the working of Sewa Kendras. He said that all the CCTV cameras installed in the Kendra would be made operational and he would personally monitor the activities of Sewa Kendra in his office. Mr. Sharma also said that inspection of Sewa Kendras would be done by the officers of district administration from now onwards.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Executive Magistrate Mr. Jai Inder Singh and others.
