Adopting a reformist approach towards a person who was caught impersonating as PA of the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, the district Police and Civil administration today gave another chance to him to reform himself on humanitarian grounds. The person identified as Tarunjit Singh had been calling the people by impersonating as the PA of the Deputy Commissioner. However, as the matter came into the notice of the Deputy Commissioner, he requested the Commissioner of Police Mr. Praveen Kumar Sinha to enquire the matter. Mr. Sinha then entrusted the job to CIA Staff head Mr. Ajay Singh who traced the person within around 18 hours.During the investigation the person confessed that he had been impersonating as the PA of the Deputy Commissioner because his wife was seriously ill. He told the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police that his wife was having Chronic Kidney Failure since year 2000 due to which he was facing acute economic crisis.  His wife needs dialysis two times a week and he has lost job due to this cause.

Tarunjit Singh said that such was the situation that he had not been able to pay the fees of her daughter who was studying in a local school. Tarunjit also submitted a written apology to both the officers and promised not to repeat this mistake. The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police then asked the Police officers to verify the facts submitted by Tarunjit. After it was established that the facts revealed by him were true and his economic situation was really miserable both the officers took a considerate view towards him and keeping in view his poor economic condition and ill health of his wife, didn’t initiate any legal action against him. Even both the officers also helped him by getting the fees of his daughter waived off from the school management. However, both the officers warned him that he would be under strict surveillance of the Police and he would be put behind the bars for any such mistake if repeated in future.
