To review implementation of Prime Minister’s Employment Gene-ration Programme (PMEGP) in  North Zone a review meeting was conducted today under the chairmanship of Dr HinaShafiBhat, North Zone Chairperson (NZ), KVIC at Chandigarh.Besides, Dy. Chief Executive Officer (NZ), Dy. Chief Executive Officer (PMEGP) KVIC, Directors of all the States of North Zone, Assistant Director (Incharge), KVIC Anil Kumar Sharma, Bankers, Lead District Managers, General Managers DIC, Officers of KVIB and other Officers were present during the meeting.Addressing the meeting Dr.Hinasaid PMEGP is an effective scheme to tackle unemployment, generate sustainable employment opportunities in rural and urban areas and financial institutions like banks play a crucial role here. She asked the banks to work in right earnest to meet the targets of the programme and expedite disbursement of the margin money. She further emphasised upon the District Officers to complete their targets within the month and asked them to achieve the new assigned targets by the end of this month. Dr Hina expressed hope that the discussions held during the review meeting with all the stakeholders, including representatives of various banks, States officials and other beneficiaries, will be fruitful on crucial areas like collateral free loans, timely bank sanctions, release of margin money subsidy and loan installment, coverage of credit guarantee scheme, achievement of social category targets of SC, ST, minority, women etc.

Dr.Hina stressed upon the need of interaction with the applicants within 5 daysand  and forwarded to DLTFC meeting for consideration. She said that cases to be forwarded to DLTFC and meeting to be conducted once in a month so that the pendency is cleared on time.Besides, forwarding of cases to Banks to be expedite so that targets can be achieved on time.Dr.Hina stressed upon the Banks to take early action on PMEGP cases. Besides, many Banks take months time to viewthe case which causes delay. Banks are requested  to take serious note of this issue and despite their busy schedule visit PMEGP-e-Portal for viewing the cases and taking necessary action at the earliest. Dr.Hina said that it has been seen that’s Banks return or reject the cases without giving proper reasons. Main reason that Banks give while returning or rejecting the "case is “Out of Service area”.This can be corrected at Interaction or DLTFC level so that this problem can be solved and maximum sanctions are received. After sanctioning, it has been seen that RSETI’s/RUDSTI’s take their own time for conducting EDP training. But I request RSETI’s/RUDSTI’s to conduct EDP training at the earliest for the welfare of Beneficiaries and the scheme.I hope from this meeting, we will start working in the right direction and make PMEGP scheme a grand success.
