To ensure timely completion of projects taken up in different important sectors like PWD, PDD, Education, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting of concerned officers to discuss major issues/bottlenecks impeding these development projects.Issues like litigation, forest clearance and payment of land compensation which are hindering completion of second circuit of 132 KV Barn-Siot-Rajouri Line were discussed in great details and directions were passed to resolve these issues on priority basis given the fact that installed capacity of Rajouri-Poonch Grid station is 130 MW but it is charged upto 75 MW due to non-completion of second circuit which in turns leads to under utilisation of transformers in twin districts. Moreover improvement in reliability of power in twin district can be ensured with completion of second circuit as power of single circuit gets snapped easily due to storms/rain.

DDC also discussed the proposal for 470 Crore, 400/220 KV-400/132 KV receiving station at Rajouri for providing round the clock power to twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch. The grid station will be a Line in/Line out arrangement for receiving power from 400KV Jalandhar-Baramulla Power Line. The meeting also discussed issues concerning higher education institutions in the district. Registrar Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University apprised about issues of encroachment on university land, shortage of potable drinking water, shortage of accommodation facilities and dearth of playgrounds in university campus. Infrastructural needs were raised by principals of different degree colleges and they also asked for filling up of vacant posts.Meeting also reviewed major development projects like Medical College, Girls Hostel, Indoor Stadium and Residential Schools. Directions for completion of these projects within time frame were passed and concerned were asked to submit progress reports on fortnightly basis.Beside other senior officers of the concerned department were present in the meeting.
